Feeling Peaceful

Yesterday I went on my first Buddhist retreat. It was held at the Kumbum Chamste Ling temple at the Tibetan Cultural Center. We spent most of the day either silently listening to our guru, Geshe Lobtin, chanting prayers or in meditation. It was a good experience for me and much needed. The stresses of graduate research, dystonia and family are difficult sometimes and it is good to have time to work on cultivating compassion, peace and patience. I have a renewed feeling of peace and joy which I will work to maintain and share with others.

In the photo is my string of Mala beads used for reciting mantras during meditation.
